Jeremy and Melisa are from central Illinois where they were born and raised. In 1993 they met while working at a local car wash. High School sweethearts, they married a few short years later and have been together for over 15 years.
Shortly before they were married, they both encountered God at a church service, gave their lives to Him and have never turned back. They have been involved in a variety of ministries over the years including youth, cell groups, Encounters, teaching and preaching. They love serving the Lord and seeing peoples lives radically changed by the love of Jesus.
In 2001, God began showing them that it was His will for them to adopt a child from another country. Jeremy and Melisa kept praying about it and every time were led back to Guatemala. Though they didn't know why at the time, God was planting the seed of missions into their hearts right then. After filling out paperwork and getting approved by various agencies which took almost a year, they received a phone call from their adoption agency about a 2 month old little girl that contracted syphilis from her birth mother.
They knew it was God's will that this baby was to be theirs when they found out that they were the only ones that would except her because of her condition. They decided to stand in faith and believe that she would be totally healed by the time they brought her home nearly 8 months later. So in March of 2003, Jeremy and Melisa flew to Guatemala to get their little girl. When they brought her back and took her to the doctor, blood tests confirmed the miracle that she was healed!!!! And she has been on no meds ever since. GLORY!
